Churnet Valley partnership team Ian Kynaston and Ian Wykes have been out with Tracey, the Wetland Officer from the Tame Valley in Warwickshire. They were looking at sites where rust fungus will be introduced to help tackle Himalayan balsam.

Jane Clowes, one of the facilitators for the Churnet Valley Farmers’ facilitation group, has won an award from Natural England for her conservation farming. Jane, a beef farmer from Ipstones, was invited to the awards’ ceremony last week, but had no idea that she had won.

A bid for the Churnet Valley to Natural England's Countryside Stewardship Facilitation Fund has been successful. This is great news for both the environment and land managers as it brings a new approach for effecting conservation farming in the valley over the next 3 years.
