Party in the Park and Carnival has become a firm favourite in many people’s diaries. There is a great variety of activities in Brough Park for all the family to enjoy, with Missing Link, White Knuckle Ride and Favourite Shirt on the bandstand, fairground rides, free face painting, stallholders, Punch and Judy, Moorlands Radio, the town crier, licensed bars, ice cream and street food. For many, the star of the show will be the return of the 100 metre giant waterslide.
Not to be missed is the carnival parade led by Leek and Moorlands Carnival Queen. It starts from Ball Haye Green recreation ground at 12.30pm and the decorated floats, Buxton Billerettes, the Queens and retinues will make their way through the town centre finishing in Brough Park at 2.00pm. The crowning of the new Queen, Miss Poppy Knight, will then take place. During the year, Poppy will be fundraising for Young Minds, St Paul’s Church and other local charities.
